Jin Shin Jyutsu quick hold for foot problems
The feet have two main functions: to bear our weight and give us forward movement. As with every other part of the body, most people don’t think about their feet until they start complaining. In terms of Jin Shin Jyutsu, there are many ways that we can help the feet, but sometimes it’s difficult or unsuitable to work on the actual foot. Fortunately, this nice, simple Jin Shin Jyutsu hold to help with foot problems does not require one to touch the feet!

Our system of 26 Safety Energy Locks to the rescue
We have 26 energy sites on the body which we call Safety Energy Locks (SELs). There are 26 on the left side and 26 mirror images on the right side.
These energy sites are not points. They are spheres of concentrated energy that are found on specific and appropriate locations on the body according to their functions.
Each SEL has specific functions. Working together, they help us maintain overall balance and harmony on all levels.
Two particular SELs to help the feet
There is a safety energy lock which governs the feet. It is SEL 9 and is found on the back between the bottom part of the shoulder blade and the spine. When SEL 9 is clear and charged, the feet are happy.
If you’re new to Jin Shin Jyutsu, then it is likely that it would be difficult for you to reach this area. The great news is that we can use an alternative SEL to clear the 9 on the back, thereby also helping the feet.
Enter SEL 19, located on the elbows. When we work with Safety Energy Lock 19, it helps us BE in perfect balance. It also helps ease backaches and chest congestions, among other things.
In Jin Shin Jyutsu, when we have foot problems like high arches, flat feet and various others, we can employ SEL 19 on the left and right elbows. Working regularly with SEL 19 we can help ease stress and tension in the feet that lead to pain and discomfort.

Relax the hands and hold for as long as you like.
This is a good one to practice either sitting quietly with the eyes closed, or you can also practice it in front of the TV.
