Be still my beating heart
Once in a while, usually out of the blue, you might become aware of your heart beating faster and louder. Sometimes, the rhythm changes: the heart skips or adds a beat for a few seconds and then settles back. This is what it feels like to have what is commonly known as heart palpitations. There are many reasons why they can happen, but the good news is that there are ways to ease the discomfort. Below I share a dynamic Jin Shin Jyutsu self help hold for heart palpitations.

On an energy level, it could be that some functions intermingle with each other. A way to correct them is to work with a specific energy function.
Happily, there is a simple self help exercise to correct the energy function that results in heart palpitations (and other things such as rapid pulsation).
For the left side
Place your right hand over your left shoulder, so the fingers rest on the top of the shoulder blade, between the spine and the shoulder blade
Fold the fingers of the left hand on to the base of the left thumb.
To do the right side, reverse the hands.
Place your left hand over your right shoulder, so the fingers rest on the top of the shoulder blade, between the spine and the shoulder blade
Fold the fingers of the right hand on to the base of the right thumb.
How long to practise for?
You can do this hold a couple of minutes ‘on the go’ if you need to, or for as long as 20 minutes or more. When you practise it, you might feel a pulsation in your fingers. That means the energy is starting to release and flow properly. If the pulse is very strong then wait for it to settle down.
If you can’t feel a pulse in your finger tips then don’t worry! It doesn’t mean nothing is happening. Just keep practising this hold a few minutes every day.
Remember also the little finger!
If you’re out and about, remember that you can hold the left little finger as it is also very helpful for harmonising heart discomforts, including heart palpitations.
Just wrap your right hand around the left little finger. No pulling or pressing is required. Relax the hands.
