How to bring down a fever
A few months ago, I received an email from a grandmother in the Netherlands.
She was taking care of her grandson, a toddler of three, for a few days. He developed a fever, so she asked me if there was anything she could do to help him.
How nice that I could answer her question “Is there a Jin Shin Jyutsu hold to bring down a fever” with the following simple exercise.
Exercise to bring down a fever
I explained the following hold she could do on her grandson:
‘Your grandson lies on his back, face up so that he is comfortable. You sit on his left side. Then you place your right hand over his left shoulder, close to the neck. Place your left hand lightly on his left groin. Hold for a few minutes, or as long as the child is willing.’
By the way, a child will let you know when they have had enough, so go with the flow!
Delighted with the results
A bit later I received a reply from her, and I quote:
‘It is super how quickly this hold has worked! You wouldn’t say that he’d had a high fever – he’s now back to being his usual lively, playful and happy self.’
The image shows the Jin Shin Jyutsu exercise for the left side. To do the right side, reverse the hands.
Important note: This exercise is NOT meant as a substitute for medical attention. If the fever persists, then do seek medical advice.
